The world is welcome here.
Maryville University offers online academic programs where international students can thrive. Our faculty, staff, and student support advisors are committed to helping you reach your academic goals — no matter where you call home.
You’re considered an international student if:
- You are a non-U.S. high school or college student interested in pursuing an online graduate (master’s) degree in the United States.
- You are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Admission Requirements
It’s our goal to make admission for international students as simple and supportive as possible. This step-by-step guide is designed to help you through the process with ease.
How to Apply
- Step 1: Complete and submit your preliminary application — available online for your convenience. This is your first step in the application process. Your enrollment advisor will review your preliminary application and follow up to ensure your next steps are clear. Then, you will be required to complete your full application.
- Step 2: Gather and submit your transcripts. This should include transcripts from all secondary schools and/or universities you have attended.
- Step 3: Submit any other supporting documents that may be applicable to your program. Your enrollment advisor can help walk you through what you will need.
- Step 4: Provide your official English proficiency exam score — TOEFL, IELTS, PTE-Academic, or DET (not recommended for medical programs). Maryville’s institutional code is 6399.
Note. Maryville’s online nursing programs require students with an international education background to have their BSN from a CCNE/ACEN accredited program for the MSN & BSN-DNP programs, and their MSN from a CCNE/ACEN accredited program for the Post-Master’s Certificate, DNP & DNP-NP programs. Please reach out to an enrollment advisor for more information.
Transferring International Credits
Credits earned both in the U.S. and in other countries may be eligible for transfer toward your Maryville degree. If you earned credits from an institution outside of the U.S. they are required to be assessed by an evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). A NACES approved evaluation company should also be used if transcripts are from prior to 2005; these evaluations should be course by course with a GPA calculation.
Nursing applicants must have their transcripts evaluated by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).
Your next adventure is ready to begin.
