Curriculum
You can complete the online doctor of education – higher education leadership in as few as 32 months of year-round study. The entirety of the program, including two research residencies to be fulfilled online or on-campus, can be completed in eight semesters and is a 48-credit program. Unlike other doctorate programs, your dissertation is completed simultaneously with your coursework.

To ensure the best possible educational experience for our students, we may update our curriculum to reflect emerging and changing employer and industry demands.
Admission requirements
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- 3.0 cumulative GPA required for full admission
- Applicants who do not meet the GPA requirement may be considered for provisional admission
- Official transcripts required for all institutions previously attended
- Personal essay — 500-600 words
- Two professional letters of recommendation
- Minimum of three years experience in the field of higher education (exceptions considered for demonstrated professional leadership experience transferable to higher ed)
- International applicants (if applicable): Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL with a score of 563, speaking sub-score of 23, writing sub-score of 20, reading and listening scores of 21, and a combined score of 85 or higher)
